![]() He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Odell Saynes Minter son, Anthony Dewayne Minter brother, William Gary Minter and sister, Pamela Ellison.ĭwight leaves his years of memories to wife, Gloria Moore Minter his sons, John (Shannon) Minter and Matthew (Tammy) Minter daughter, Beth Minter grandchildren, Jeb Bryan, Alex Ring, Sidney Minter, Max Minter, Spencer Minter, and Ben Minter great-grandchildren, Gage Oakley and Rosabella Ring special grandson, Caden Shadrick along with several nieces, nephews and a community of beloved family and friends. There will never be another “Dwight Franklin Minter” in the community and he will be missed by all that crossed his path. Dwight was the man that would assist anyone in need, gave to his family and friends and he loved being involved in any community events. ![]() His loving kindness, gentle heart, love for his community and our country, was a man that led a life of going above and beyond. He was an avid sports fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. He also was a member of the Whitwell Lodge 563 F & AM for over 50 years, Olive Branch Lodge 297 and honored member of the Sequatchie Valley Shriners.ĭwight was known as the “Gov” of Marion County, TN. Dwight served and retired as a Command Sergeant Major with the Tennessee Army National Guard. Dwight retired as the plant superintendent after 35 years for Combustion Engineering Metals Company of Chattanooga. He was a 1962 graduate of Whitwell High School, Whitwell, TN.ĭwight was currently serving as the Marion County Clerk in Marion County, TN for the last 20 years. Dwight was of the Nazarene faith and a member of the Jasper Nazarene Church in Jasper, TN. ![]() Dwight was born on April 18, 1944, to the late Frank Minter and Odell Saynes Minter and was married to Gloria Moore Minter. He was a resident of Jasper, TN however a man that was known by everyone in Marion County, TN. (Charles), Tammy Merz (Pete) and Carla Andregg (Shannon) her grandchildren, Tyler Reed, SGT Pierson Merz (Amber), Chase Merrell (Alaina), Charles Jenkins, III, Corbin Merrell, Hailey Phillips (Ethan) and Gracey Andregg and her great grandchildren, Eli and Aevah Merz.With his family at his side to say their final goodbyes, the Lord took the strong hand of Dwight Franklin Minter, 77, to lead him to the pearly gates of heaven on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. She is survived by : her husband Coleman Slatton her daughters, Tiffany Jenkins, Jr. ![]() She was predeceased by : her parents, Ernest Turner and Louise Ballard Turner and her siblings, Barbara Jo Watts and Robert "Bobby" Turner.
